Equestrian Style with the red Lands' End Down Vest.

What is your all-time favorite fashion piece...outside of Equestrianista of course?

Hands down is my Lands' End Down Vest. It's this incredible lipstick red, with easy-peasy snaps, and deep pockets. It's the perfect eye-catching red for visibility when trail riding, but chic enough to layer with some of my favorite pieces. I love to pair it with my Plaid Jumper Sweatshirt for that preppy equestrian vibe.

What is an easy and inexpensive way to keep equestrian style fun?

Rust Breehes paired with Cognac Riding Boots. When I want to switch up my look I add color. Seasonal color can update even the most vintage of equestrian pieces. Let's face it, great equestrian fashion apparel or accessories, whether from ready-to-wear designers or our authentic equestrian wear companies, are not cheap. So we hang on to those favorites for years and years. But with some seasonal color you can give even the oldest of pieces new life. For example, I LOVE rust breeches from the 80's and beyond. They still look fabulous paired with a simple cream sweater. Take them to the next level with a great pair of cognac field boots - like the Ariat Challenge Contour Square Toe Tall Boot from Dover. And voila...you have a look worthy of British Vogue my friend!

What's your favorite street to stable piece?

Equestrian Perfect Fit Logo Sweater in Navy by Equestrianista.Right now I am swooning over our new Perfect Fit Logo Sweater! It gives me a look that is polished enough to come from a day of meetings to the stable. The fit is perfection on every body type that has tried it on in our mobile boutique. To top it off it's 50% merino wool, which makes it breathable, yet washable. I promise it won't disappoint!

Who are your equestrian style icons?

Kaley Cuoco and Reed Kessler. They're both great riders, incredibly polished, and have a great eye for equestrian fashion.

What equestrian fashion rule is meant to be broken?

Bling! I remember in early 2013 when I began designing with shimmer and glitter and was told "Oh those won't sell. Equestrians are too conservative and classic to wear glitter...". Well, I trusted my own sense of style and taste and still invested in my line. Today, the pieces with the trademarked term 'Equestrianista' in glitter still continue to be a top seller. I realized equestrians, like me, will break the rules and wear what makes them feel good and represents their style.

My favorite equestrian products at the moment are...

It is great to see that wearing a helmet has become as fashionable as it is life-saving! They are so much for than that gigantic crushed velvet monstrosity that I grew up with. Now riding helmet manufacturers like Samshield, KASK, and GPA have offerings in black, grey, navy, or brown and allow you to add a monogram or even rhinestones to further make it just your style. Love, love this trend!
